Lyrically imaginative alt-rock group The Cordial Sins, bring us a whiff of nostalgia; drawing on memories of 90’s riot grrrl punk and early 00’s bands like Death Cab or Radiohead. Front woman and guitarist, Liz Fisher (classically trained in violin) brings an indubitable force of musical skill to the group, while lead guitarist, Corey Dickerson, grounds the band in its rock roots with guitar licks influenced by Nels Cline and Carl Broemel. Together as a band - which includes John Allen on bass, Kyle Edwards on guitar, and drummer Mike Ortiz - The Sins’ musical savviness combined with eclectic influences make for an exciting, bold, and sonically-pleasing mixture of alt-rock, shoegaze, and pop.
The Cordial Sins are always on the road and live shows are where they truly shine. This summer alone, they haven't stayed in their hometown of Columbus, OH for more then two weeks at a time; regularly performing venues all over the nation and most recently opening for MGMT and The Flaming Lips at Waynesville, Ohio's Bellwether Music Festival as well as opening for Twin Peaks and Guided By Voices at Yellow Springs' Springsfest. Packing up the van and hitting the road is only part of the job.
The quintet’s last single Sick of the Hype received regular rotation on tastemaker station CD102.5FM and Spotify playlists Discover Weekly, All Vibes, Plugged In, and Release Radar. They have also garnered notable press with NPR, Atwood Magazine, Impose Mag, and more.
